British adaptation of Poe’s short story - a Hammeresque treatment of the life of a loony who lives on “the Rue Morgue,” kills his rival in love, buries the body in the parlor, and is forever after tormented by “his damned beating heart.” The shock scenes are nice and surprisingly bloody.
