A ragtag group of castaways meets a suspiciously German scientist on a not-so-deserted island, where they soon face flesh-eating microbes, fountains of guts, and a character being eaten from the inside out. This low-budget shocker pushed the envelope of graphic and extreme on-screen violence, making it one of the first ever gore films.
