Norah, an L A woman working as a switchboard operator, dines with the womanizing Harry at the Blue Gardenia. She ends up drunk in his flat. He tries to take advantage of her, but she resists. She wakes up the next morning, with no memories of the previous evening. She learns that Harry has been found dead.
