Based on Rona Jaffe's moral-panic 1981 novel about the potential psychological dangers of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) role-playing games, Mazes and Monsters is a made-for-TV fantasy-thriller oddity starring a baby-faced Tom Hanks. Robbie (Hanks) and his three college friends decide to take the RPG into real-life, with the line between fantasy and reality soon blurring. Think of it as Reefer Madness for the D&D generation of the 1980s.
